I am both an author and an avid reader. I am also the mother of two small children. Naturally family comes first to me. As an author, I don’t have a whole lot of time that isn’t dedicated to my work after my family’s needs are met. When I do get a slice of extra time, of course I love to read.

Writing a book is a long, tedious process. It’s not as easy as people in movies make it look. We don’t just type “the end” and magically have a book in our hands. This is something that I have to remind myself too – because I will and do forget that.

Guys do not cry, do not feel like they are going insane. They provide stability in any situation, a solution to all problems. So I was taught. Drilled into me was the John Wayne, Clint Eastwood type of man. But that really wasn’t me.
But I learned to act at a young age. You could say I began my career in theater at church: no matter how I felt at home, or even if my family had an argument Sunday morning, you put on your best clothes, go to Sunday School, and spit back all the right answers with a smile painted on your face.
